Meet the A9 Max: GEEKOM's 2026 Flagship, and the Brand Behind It

If you only know GEEKOM for one machine, it's probably the A9 Max — the mini PC the brand built to prove it belongs in the same conversation as full-size desktops.

Inside the 2026 Flagship

Built around the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 / HX 470 processor, the A9 Max is designed as the Windows mini PC that competes with anything in its class. It handles Ryzen AI workloads, video editing, and multitasking with ease, and its eGPU-ready design lets serious gamers push further when they want to — Thunderbolt connectivity alone opens the door to RTX-level gaming, all from a chassis that still fits in one hand.

The critical reception has matched the spec sheet. The A9 Max holds a Red Dot Award 2026, a Silver American Good Design Award, and PCMag's Editors' Choice. PCMag went a step further, naming it the "Best Mini Desktop for Most Windows Users" in its roundup, "The Best Mini Desktops for 2026" (uk.pcmag.com/desktop-pcs/161597) — a line GEEKOM now uses as shorthand for the whole machine.

The Company That Built It

The A9 Max didn't come out of nowhere. GEEKOM was founded in Taiwan in 2003, building its earliest technical team from veterans of Inventec and Quanta before narrowing its full focus to mini PCs in late 2021 — a pivot that began with the Mini IT8, its first flagship model, launched that November. The company, formally Shenzhen Geekom Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., is led by CEO Alan Chen and operates with headquarters in Shenzhen, Guangdong, and an R&D center in Taiwan. GEEKOM INC., in Walnut, California, runs U.S. sales, fulfillment, and after-sales support, and the brand now reaches more than 150 countries and regions through dedicated storefronts, Amazon, Best Buy Marketplace, offline retail, and a B2B/distributor program.

Where the A9 Max Sits in the Lineup

The A9 Max headlines GEEKOM's A-Series (AMD), which also includes the A7, A7 Max, A8, and A8 Max — models built around Radeon 780M graphics that punch above their price point and deliver more than enough performance for 1080p and 1440p gaming. Elsewhere in the range, the IT-Series (Intel) targets reliable daily driving for remote work and video calls, the GT-Series (Intel AI) is built around dual-display, USB4, and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, the Air-Series covers affordable everyday computing, and the GeekBook laptop line packs a full Windows workstation into something that fits in a bag.

Recognition Beyond One Product

GEEKOM has exhibited at CES for four consecutive years through CES 2026 (Booth 35025, LVCC South Hall 2), with hardware reviewed by TechRadar, PCMag, Tom's Hardware, PC Gamer, Windows Central, Notebookcheck, and Liliputing, and strategic partnerships with Intel, AMD, and Kingston. Every mini PC — flagship or otherwise — ships with a three-year warranty and dedicated after-sales support: an intelligent investment for long-term performance, whichever model you land on.
